Beliefs

What we believe…

…about GOD. God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed with His trinitarian nature as one being, yet three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

…about JESUS CHRIST. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

…about the HOLY SPIRIT. All believers receive the Holy Spirit (the Spirit of God) when they receive Jesus Christ as Lord of their lives at salvation. With the Holy Spirit baptism comes power for life and service.

…about the BIBLE. The Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.

…about SALVATION. Salvation is God’s free gift to us, but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we repent of sin, confess Jesus as Lord, and turn from our self-ruled life, we are saved.

…about the BLESSED HOPE. The blessed hope of the church is the Second Coming of Jesus when He returns to bring an end to all evil and establish His Kingdom in its fulness on the earth.

…about ETERNITY. As created in the image of God, humans were made to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God because of sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation in Jesus. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from there he shall come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit; I believe in the holy universal Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen!

The Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy Christian Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen!
